Thank you for booking a cruise with Pacific Electric Boat Rentals. You are going to have a lot of fun!
Please have your entire party arrive 15 minutes early for check in. Please note that your rental will end at the time you reserved, even if you or your guests arrive late.
Please be sure to take note of the following important details:
You MUST bring your driver’s license AND provide a credit card (NO debit cards) upon arrival, to be used for a security deposit. If you cannot provide a credit card for the security deposit, your rental will be canceled. Debit cards cannot be accepted.
The renter on record and the person who provides the credit card must be 25 years of age or older. If this person is not 25 years or older, your rental will be canceled.
Anyone in your party who drives the rental boat must also be 25 years of age or older.
At all times, the driver must remain under BAC of .08. Passengers may drink, but no one should be drunk. This is for the safety of your entire party.
The boat accommodates a maximum of ten (10) passengers, including children of all ages.
The boat is designed for cruising only. Swimming, fishing and jumping off the boat are strictly prohibited.
The boat must be returned back to the slip on time. Late fees are assessed if you return after your reservation has ended. Please understand that there is usually another rental booked after yours, so even if you arrive late for the start of your rental, you must come back at the time you booked it for.
Parking and Check-In:
There is plenty of free parking next to our office, which is located at 201 E. Coast Hwy, Newport Beach, CA 92660. You may park anywhere directly in front of or directly past our office (please do not park in the “marina” marked parking lot, which is reserved for boat owners).
If you have booked your cruise for a weekday, please check in for your cruise inside our office. If your booking is for a weekend, please check in at the podium on the patio next to our office. Please do not walk down to the boats until you have checked in.
When your entire group is present and the paperwork is complete, you’ll be escorted down to your boat. Our crew will go over the operation of the boat with you. They will also go over the condition of the vessel prior to departure and you will sign off on the condition of the vessel.
We reserve the right to place up to a $1000 hold on your credit card as a Security Deposit for damages, additional cleaning fees, late fees, etc., as explained on the first page of the rental agreement. Please also understand that your reservation is reserved for a specific time and since there is mostly likely a person renting after you, we cannot extend your reservation if you start late. It is your responsibility to bring the boat back on time. Not doing so will affect the next person, especially since we need sufficient time to thoroughly clean and sanitize the boats between usages. If you are late, a late return fee will be charged to your card provided.
Cancellations and Rescheduling:
Changes can be made up to 24 hours in advance for $25. Cancellations can be made anytime up to 24 hours in advance of the rental time for $50. Within 24 hours, no changes or cancellations can be made.
Rain Cancellation Policy:
We will reschedule or refund 100% of your charter fee if at 9am on the day of your charter, the iPhone Weather app says there is a 40% or higher chance of rain during the specific hours of your charter. Weather apps are notoriously inaccurate, especially several days out. For example, the weather apps may forecast that there is rain coming on Saturday--but then as the day comes closer, the prediction is only for rain between 4am and 8am with the whole afternoon sunny. This is why we wait until the day of the charter to make the call. Our Duffy boats have a full top cover and with eisenglass windows that close to keep you warm and cozy even when the weather is a little chilly.
Our furry friends are welcome! One dog is allowed on the boat. Dogs must be under 20lbs and a dog fee of $25 will be payable at check in (including service animals).
It is typical in our industry to provide a gratuity to the dock team, if you felt that they did a good job. Please consider this, as a gratuity is sincerely and always appreciated. We trust that our team will do their utmost to provide you with a wonderful experience!
